Romantic Getaway in Yosemite

You have to be there to feel the magnificence of Yosemite National Park! There is no better feeling than holding hands with the person you love while watching the angles of the mountains shine with a bronze-golden light from the setting sun. The deep valleys, massive rock structures, and the lakes, are breathtaking. Mother Nature's beauty can be felt at its fullest here.
There is something for everyone at the park! We spent 6 days there, last summer, and enjoyed every moment of it! There are amazing hikes around the East Entrance. One of my favorites is an easy 5-6 mile trek to the Devils Postpile and Rainbow falls. The Devils Postpile is hexagonal columns of cooled and shrunk volcanic lava and it is amazing!
The end of that trail took us to a pretty waterfall. The rainbow was nice but did not come up in my pictures because of the way the sun reflected :-( We were not super impressed by the falls, having been to the Niagara Fall region a couple of times! But it was pretty nonetheless!
Everything is so beautiful, that pictures cannot compare to actually being there to experience it. You can camp, hike, canoe and ski, depending on the weather! There is a beautiful scenic gondola ride up the mammoth mountain. The peak is at 11,053 feet and the view is gorgeous!
Out of everything, if I had to pick one favorite, serene, romantic landscape, it would be the lakes. We visited Lake Mono and Lake Tenaya. The still water and almost beach-like sandy areas next to the lakes make the place very picnic friendly. We had sandwiches, orange juice and grapes while throwing stones in water, trying to see whose stones went in furthest.
So if you love nature and a vast range of diverse rugged landscape and you and your sweetheart want to do something active, fun and romantic, this is the place to be in. Yosemite National Park will not disappoint you :-)
